I just picked up a copy of Ed Fella Documents — a catalog in support of the exhibit of the same name, held in France this summer — which offers up a selection of the artist’s energetic typographic art projects. Looking forward to having a flick through Fella’s expressive work this week, as well as some other recent purchases — Graphic Design: Now in Production, and Joost Grootens’ I Swear I Use No Art at All. Merry Christmas to me!

I was recently turned on to the work of Cyan, a Berlin-based design studio founded in the early 90s by Daniela Haufe and Detlef Fiedler. The site is full of big, bold, bright type and well-worth a look through if you haven’t had one before.

Issue 2 ships mid-January and features interviews with Buffalo Zine, El Celso, Damien Gautier (Éditions 205), Martine Mathijsen, Rob Lowe (Cagoule, Anorak, Fire & Knives), Anna Gerber and Britt Iversen (Visual Editions), and Wayne White; a new installment of Type Affairs with Astrid Stavro, a special centerfold by Mark Pernice and a screenprinted insert hand-lettered by Kathryn Murray. Pre-order now.

Looking forward to getting my hands on a copy of this handsome type specimen from the Brighton-based Colophon type foundry. Only 70 available online.

Issue 2 is vacationing at our printers in Canada, and is due back in town (and available for purchase) in mid January. Expect sneak peeks all this month, and a few surprises from some GT friends celebrating the release.
